Fasting in the month of Ramadan is the third pillar of Islam. Therefore, chronic patients are advised to prepare and plan their medication intake prior to Ramadan by consulting a doctor or pharmacist. Patients should not stop taking medication during Ramadan without informing healthcare professional. Patients who are still confused about taking medication while fasting are encouraged to seek advice from a pharmacist at a nearby hospital, health clinic or community pharmacy.
