Self Medication Guide For Common Illnesses

Read this leaflet carefully before taking your medicine. Ask your pharmacist or doctor if you have any further questions about your medicine.

  1. Generic Name or Active Ingredient:


  1. Uses:

      To eradicate worms or parasites from gut and other tissues. It is effective against threadworm or pinworm, roundworm, whipworm, tapeworm and hookworm.

  1. How This Medicine Works:

      It kills the worms by preventing them from having sufficient nutrients. This causes the eggs, larvae and adult worms to be also affected.

  1. Do Not Take This Medicine :
    • If you are allergic to albendazole or any ingredients thats is in the medication or any drugs similar to albendazole such as mebendazole and thiabendazole.
  1. Before You Start To Take This Medicine :
    • Inform your pharmacist or doctor if you liver problems.
    • Inform your pharmacist or doctor if you are or plan to get pregnant, or are breastfeeding.
    • Consult a doctor before using this medicine in children.
  1. Taking With Other Medication:

Inform your pharmacist or doctor if you are taking any other medication, supplements, vitamins or herbal preparations, as some medicines can interfere with each other.

  1. How to use this medicine:

Follow the directions on your medication label carefully, and ask your pharmacist to explain any part you do not understand.

  1. How to  take
  • The usual dose for adults and children older than 2 years of age is 2 tablets as a single dose. This medication can be taken on an empty stomach. It may also be crushed or chewed or swallowed whole.
  1. When to  take
  • Usually at night, or as instructed by your doctor.
